There are many stress busters but one of the best ones is simple. Just have fun. Stress management is increasingly required to operate our lives. One of the most effective ways to manage stress is to be mentally relax and be involved in activities you like. The problem is we all get stressed about our recreation especially in the younger age groups. Having ‘fun’ is also subject to peer pressure and we land up into activities we don’t really enjoy. This also causes stress.

So what is fun? It is not going to malls or shopping or eating and drinking. Being involved with what you like gives you much more joy and keeps your mind calm. It could be a hobby of any kind or getting involved in constructive activities or sports that you like.

If you ensure that you keep yourself involved in such activities for at least three to four times a week, you will be less stressed. This is the best way to just unwind your brain. Don’t think too much about what is ‘in’ or ‘cool’ and what is not. If we agonize too much, we will not be having fun. Instead we will only be more stressed. Let not others decide or influence you at all.

If you really get along with your parents and have a blast; do it! No point trying to be a specifically rebellious youngster just to look good with your ‘friends’. If you keep being what you are not, you are going to get hit with stress and get into the hospital faster than the next door old lady. Have fun.

If you feel you are not being understood by anyone and need someone to lend an ear? Write in your query on our stress management section and we will reply for free.

It is always a challenge to be able to eat the right kind of healthy snacks for weight loss or fitness, especially when we try to balance taste with nutrition. One such nutritious and` easy recipe is given below. It is delicious and children will also like it.

Take 250 grams of fresh homemade curds (yogurt) and hang it in a muslin cloth or put on a strainer till the water has drained out. This should take around thirty o 60 minutes. You could also put the yogurt in a muslin cloth and squeeze out the water if you want to make it faster.

To this add a teaspoon of extra virgin sesame, groundnut or olive oil. Mix in one teaspoon of cumin powder, half a teaspoon of powdered oregano, one teaspoon of powdered coriander seeds, a teaspoon of honey and salt to taste. Mix it well and let it rest for an hour in the refrigerator.

Chop some chilled carrots and cucumbers lengthwise and have it with the yummy yogurt dip. It is delicious, cooling, satisfying and healthy.

There are many weight loss programs for women. However there is nothing specific geared towards weight gain caused during menopause. Women feel that menopause brings on weight gain. This is not true. There are a couple of reasons why this happens.

– What happens is there is a drop in estrogen levels leading the brain to instruct the body to store some more fat to counter sudden hormonal as well as nutritional changes. In fact, this excess fat at this time is required to tide over such changes and to ensure that women do not face any health issues. Such weight gain can be temporary if you choose it to be so.

– The other reason is age related. As we grow older, our metabolism changes. So even though we lead the same lifestyle with similar diet patterns of the past few years, we may tend to put on weight. All that is required is some course correction. Excessive exercise or dieting is not required or advisable especially at this crucial stage of life.

An adequate diet with an effective Yoga program at this stage will ensure optimal weight and health. After this stage, the body settles down in a new natural state. However, you need not worry too much about the exact weight or size or measurements.

Practicing Yoga four to five times a week for two to three years will ensure correct absorption of nutrients and the appropriate weight. Therefore, this is a stage similar to when an individual becomes sedentary over a period of time. All you need to do is practice Yoga regularly. If you do this in your mid years, you need not worry too much later on. Sign up for our Yoga programs for gentle and effective Yoga at from the women’s special section and opt for our diet plan on:
